    Surkamp, 26, is ranked 11th in MLB.com's list of Top 20 White Sox prospects. The White Sox added greater depth at the back end of their starting rotation by claiming left-handed pitcher Eric Surkamp off waivers from the San Francisco Giants as announced by the team Monday. Surkamp limited left-handers to a .219 average , while righties hit just .208 . The 26-year-old Surkamp, a sixth-round pick by the Giants in the 2008 amateur draft, went 0-1 with a 23.63 ERA in one spot start for San Francisco last season that lasted only 2 2-3 innings on July 23 against his hometown Reds. Morel, 26, was the White Sox third-round pick in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. Originally selected by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of North Carolina State, the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder has made seven Major League starts over the '11 and '13 seasons.
